Rigbys' Photo Restoration was based in Rockhampton Qld, owned by myself and my wife Sue Rigby, we have had a connection with photography for most of our lives. I have been both a wedding & commercial photographer since 1970, developing, restoring and retouching photos by hand. But technology has changed photography & we are now digital which has helped the process of restoration making it quicker and more affordable. My Photographic adventure started back in about 1966 at the age of 16 year old in the suburb of Stockton in Newcastle NSW, where I started photographing weddings and working for various studio's around Newcastle. Developing film and printing in the darkroom took up most of my time for a good 10 years, the next 15 years I traveled and worked around the country and ended up in Monto on a farm where i started shooting weddings again and also following the Camp draft circuit. Photographing the draft and at night developing and printing the photos from the back of my Hilux Ute with a black silo liner draped over it to form a darkroom(no computers or printers in those days). Then opening a studio in Biloela and a few years later the Rockhampton studio was up and running, another decade rolled past and Rigbys' Photographic's was reopened as Rigbys' Framing Studio. We are now Retired and Produce Honey from our farm at Struck Oil in the mountains south of Rockhampton. Sue is busy creating cloth Dolls
